500ml Flip-top bottle:BBD 16 Nov 2014, shared with Fin and Mat on 23 Aug 2014, at Sophie’s Creperie while the market all around us slowly closed up. The beer poured a hazy dull orange colour and was surprisingly sweet for a Zwickel with a mild yeastiness to temper the sweetness. Malts ruled the piece with a mini spiced injection of light sourness behind the sweet front.

Orange, trüb. Geruch malzig, süß, leicht fruchtig. Im Geschmack nur ganz leicht süß. Bitter zum Ende. Leicht brotig. Nuancen nach Honig.

(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Cara-malty and slightly biscuity aroma with mildly fruity and herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Fruity and slightly herbal hoppy taste with a slightly bready cara-malty base; bitter-sweet, delicately toasty malty and herbal hoppy finish. Likeable. 12.VIII.12

50cl bottle at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Leighton. It pours a clean golden colour with a fine white head. Aroma is just off, with feet and band aids but in the wrong way. Taste is sour, lactic acid, some funk and feet in a good way this time. Slight sweetness to cut through the sourness. This bottle is bad and infected, but if it was for the taste alone this woudl have been a very fine berliner weisse. Weird but tasty.

Bottle courtesy of Black Haddock, cheers Jeremy! We had this at The Creperie, in company of Mat, Loz, Jeremy and some of Jeremy’s family, Shrewsbury, Saturday 23rd August 2014 Hope I have got the right beer here? Anyway it pours murky light amber, soft in mouth a little vanilla, a mish mash of sugaryness on the nose. A little tanginess, liking the softness. Really easy drinking beer and quite a good choice after such a punchy big, ballsy Belgian beer. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.3
