(Cask at Wenlock Arms, Hoxton, London, 26 Nov 2016) Black colour with hints of ruby. Creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, black rye bread and a gentle roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made porter. Nice one.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Nov 2016 - Dark Reddish Brown in colour. Average foamy tan head. Fair lacing. Malty; toasty malts, grainy, chocolate, liquorice. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Nice malt/fruit balance. Sweet-bitter roast malty fruity throughout. Very drinkable. (2016-11-17)

Tap at the Hope and Champion, Beaconsfield. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is smoky roast malt, charcoal, red berry fruit. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter with a light fruity smoke liqourice floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sweet malt, light toffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, toffee - caramel, roasted, sweet - sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141205]

Cask at the Star Tavern, Belgravia. It pours darkest brown with a decent beige head. The nose is rich roast, bitter-sweet, ashy, ;liquorice, cacao, fruit cake and some Dandelion & Burdock. The taste is bitter-sweet, charred wood, ash,coffee grounds, light acidity, dark chocolate, pepper, umami, toast and some dry ash on the finish. Not bad overall.
