COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
Our first beer and we have high hopes that one day our pump clip will become as recognisable around Windsor as the Guard’s bearskin hats that the design it is based upon. Guardsman Best Bitter is a copper-coloured session strength ale with a tangy taste, smoothed by oak conditioning and a really fresh hop. It is brewed with premium Maris Otter pale malt and a blend of Pilgrim, Styrian Golding and Fuggles hops.

500ml bottle. Brilliant bronze with a fine slim head. Elderflower, attempts at leafiness, dishcloth hops aroma. Soapy hop flavour with a pleasant, cashew and digestive linger. Light strawberry esters, boiled sweet notes. Deeply ordinary: a bit bottled Sheps. Can I have a real beer soon?

Bottle. Amber with minimal foam. Aromas are toffee and dark syrup with light stewed pear. Cookie dough with raisins. Flavours are toffee with earthy, biscuit notes and strawberry with fudge. Dry tea with zesty, bitter lemon. Decent.

JorgeLee (2194) - Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2012
Cask at the Horseshoe NW3. Copper coloured bitter, fairly standard mix of malt and hops with neither dominant, absolutely nothing wrong with it, disappeared quickly so probably good for a session, but also not memorable. More character in the Garter from the same brewer.

jackl (8301) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Cask. Copper color with a modest white head. The aroma’s light, a bit grainy, grassy, some forest fruits. The taste is lightly bitter, basic. The duration short, the finish dry. Overall, an OK bitter.
