COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Triple IPA" made for Seattle Intl Beerfest 2012. The inspiration what DFH 120 Minute IPA. This beer could well be destined to become a NW masterpiece. At nearly 17%,. Crossroads really holds up nice and will for years.

Sampled on tap at PIB, pours an opaque murky dark orange with a tiny head. Aroma of citrus hops, booze, some liqueur, some paint thinner. Flavour of paint thinner, booze, some weird tropical fruits and citrus hops. Way messier than the Ascension - very unbalanced and haphazardly crafted. Not a success in terms of being a 120 clone, nor on its own. Decent attempt but needs work.

2012 Portland International Beerfest. Solid hops with Grapefruit and pine. Caramel sweetness in the background. Not as resiny as DFH or Two Beers. Big bitter finish. Tasty.

Draft at SIBF. Not as good as the other 120min try for the fest by Two Beers. Hazed orange, stingy bubble head. Sweet malt. Sweet orange juice, tart hops. Funky, sour. Odd juicy hop-tea. Weird, not terrible, not great. Something in the yeast by this brewery isn’t my favorite.

Tap @ brewery, @ SIB and can from brewery. Cloudy gold pour with a short white head. Nose gives up some pine hops when fresh, a bit less so as it ages and/or travels (as one would expect). Medium body with light carbonation. Belgian yeast and malt flavors with clove, caramel, grapefruit, pin and candy Finish is medium with some orange rind and light roast malt sweetness.I’d compare this favorably to DFH120, but with a more manageable body and a tad more hop aromas because we can get this fresher than we can get the 120’. A high ABV ale which doesn’t burn is to be commended.

Tap at SIBF 2012. Pours cloudy orange, and is far maltier than I expected. Citrus, but sweet -- not refreshingly bitter. Skunky mandarin with residual sugar, maybe even a bit tart. Nowhere near the Two Beers effort at the same clone.
