Light light unclear medium amber yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, toffee, light dusty. Flavor is moderate to lgiht heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 
Karamallmalziger Antrunk, ordentlich aromatisch. Dabei spielt der Hopfen eine deutliche, nicht aber entscheidende Rolle, das Malz gleitet von Anfang an aus. Bottle @ Pelikan, Bamberg. Pours clear yellow with a small white head. Very grassy and grainy. A bit of svovl and buiscuit. Dry and hoppy flavor. According to the waitress at Pelikan this should be the same as Hausbrau Stegaurach Lager. MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Weak dusty aroma, perhaps even faintly buttery. Clear copper colour. Very small white head. The flavour is caramelly, seems a little oxidised. A bit of butter, but not so bad. Faintly sweet, but not too bad.

Draught (served in a stein): Strawy-malty nose with a light herbal hoppiness underneath; creamy lacy off-white head; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, a bit sticky; short strawy-bitter finish. Draft @ brewpub. Served in krug, looks nice with a lasting head. Aroma is buttery! And so is the palate, which is slick and oily. Has an earthy, mushroom flavor but just enough hops to keep it sane. TAR (2760) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - AUG 21, 2014
Tap at the brewery in Dec. 2013: Burnished golden. Deeply flawed aromas of yogurt, vinegar, metal, paper, light caramel and DMS. Soft carbonation. Flimsy body. Very muddled and flabby with wet paper maltiness, chemicals and cheesy yeast. DMS and metallic fusels are unremitting throughout. Nots of gummy candy contribute additional off notes to the baffling foulness. No trace of malt or hops. Chemical-laden finish is metallic, with vitamin B flavors and grape candy. An interesting take on a kellerbier, that’s for sure. More like an infected soda pop. Pretty amazing that even in Franconia one can stumble upon the occasional head-scratcher such as this one!
