Pours dark brown/black with minimal lacing. Initial aroma is cherry cognac and sweet figs.

Another disappointment. This beer scored so high on ratebeer, but what I got was very sweet and phenolic in both Aroma and flavor.

Dfonorow (2250) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 26, 2016
Bottle. Pour is deep brown with no head and no carbonation. Notes of molasses, soy sauce, bitter chocolate, and dark caramel. Finish is very sweet but masks the alcohol decently.

Under the ’Bink Grand Cru’ label. Pour at Shelton Brothers. Big clove and cinnamon aromas with dark chocolate and treacles. More of the same on the palate. Hides the booze fairly well, but definitely a big beer with a warming finish.

mateuszk (2755) - Poznań, POLAND - SEP 6, 2016
Bottle. Very dark, almost black with light ruby reflexes, nice beige head. The beer is a mix of spicy, clove and fruity notes from Belgian notes and malty side - roasted malts, chocolate plus some dried fruits. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, finish is sweetish with spicy note. Alcohol noticeable but only in warming finish, nothing harsh. Great dark Belgian strong.

Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Pours a dark brown almost black color with an alcohol soaked fruit aroma with a nice complex flavor. Taste is cherries, oak, chocolate, fig, and minor spice. A flavorful beer that is sipped rather than drank. Delicious!!

On draft at The Sovereign. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of toffee. Flavors of pit fruits and fruit cake. Big boozy finish.
