Thanks to jhenry04 for sharing this, brought over from Belgium. Nose is chocolate pudding and malt balls. Deep brown pour wij a little bit of an off white head. Flavor is heavilly chocolate with chocolate covered cherries with a full mouthfeel and clean finish. No hint of 13% abv.

Bottle. Pour is deep brown with no head and no carbonation. Notes of molasses, soy sauce, bitter chocolate, and dark caramel. Finish is very sweet but masks the alcohol decently.

Under the Bink Grand Cru label. Pour at Shelton Brothers. Big clove and cinnamon aromas with dark chocolate and treacles. More of the same on the palate. Hides the booze fairly well, but definitely a big beer with a warming finish.

Bottle. Very dark, almost black with light ruby reflexes, nice beige head. The beer is a mix of spicy, clove and fruity notes from Belgian notes and malty side - roasted malts, chocolate plus some dried fruits. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, finish is sweetish with spicy note. Alcohol noticeable but only in warming finish, nothing harsh. Great dark Belgian strong.

Pours a dark brown almost black color with an alcohol soaked fruit aroma with a nice complex flavor. Taste is cherries, oak, chocolate, fig, and minor spice. A flavorful beer that is sipped rather than drank. Delicious!!

On draft at The Sovereign. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of toffee. Flavors of pit fruits and fruit cake. Big boozy finish.

Jan. 16. A 0.75 l bottle at Knguruh, Vienna, vintage 2014. It poured very dark and hazy brown body with a small brown hued head. Served a bit too cold. Beautiful, very intense aroma of chocolate, cocoa, licorice, dried fruit and some spices like cloves. Alcohol. Flavor was sweet, alcoholic, maybe a bit too much of both. Pleasant sweet dark malt dominated by the chocolate and licorice included everything else listed in the aroma, too plus caramel and wood, while dried fruit was more pronounced. Full bodied, with a long, warming and sweet finish that followed the taste pretty much. A little bit too strong despite the complexity, but still a really nice Belgian.

On tap it is a dark amber color with a small head. The nose has dark fruits, licorice and spice. Taste has more dark fruits, alcohol, figs and some a little bite on the finish. Good beer.

750ml bottle shared @Mad for Beer (Rome). Pours brown/reddish with a little but persistent off-white head. Aroma is rich and powerful, dried fruits, oak, cherry, light chocolate, oxidation. Flavour is complex, medium to heavy sweet with a good bitter end, alcohol. Full body, medium carbonation. Amazing.
