COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’. This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle. The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant. The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast. Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

Draft at The Sovereign. Poured a very dark brown color, pretty opaque. Medium sized tan head. Aroma was dark roasted malts, dark fruits, vanilla, touch of raisins. Bitter chocolate, dark fruits, rich and creamy malt notes. Solid, rich roasted notes. This is delicious. Very solid.

Bottle. Pours Deep Reddish Brown with a Brownish Beige head. Very rich aroma. The pruney stewed fruit sweetness that I love from a Belgian strong ale. Wonderful flavour. a touch of burnt caramel. Raisins, plums. A real winter delight and one of my favourite Christmas brews (of the ones I’ve tasted).

Bottle at home. Aroma is ripe dark fruits, dried fruits, plum, raisins, liquorice, malt, yeast, caramel, toffee, spicy notes, some nutmeg. Flavour is sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Rather heavy sweetish spiced winter beer. Okay.

Botle from JefVerstraete, thanks! Very malty and sweet, almost syrupy. Caramel, plums, raisins, dried fruit, bread crust, subtle fruity esters. Light oxidised, akin to port wine. The dark malts get darker in the flavour, shifting from caramel to chocolate. Very subtle note of roast in the finish, preceded by licorice and complemented by spicy overtones. Complex and very tasty.

deep dark colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried fruits like plum, maybe some raisin, herbal liqueur notes, hints of chocolate, some anise and alcohol. taste of dried fruits, hints of anise, some chocolate, liqueur notes, brown sugar and minimal roasted bitterness; good winter ale
