This poured into my wine glass, effervescent, and came up with a good inch of light brown head. A strong hint of vanilla on the nose, color brown, and clear, and the first sip hits with a strong vanilla, to slight banana flavor, that gives way to a hint of bourbon... medium sweetness, medium body, soft carbonation, and long finish, with the vanilla being the dominant flavor that lingers. Overall? I like this. I would not like this all the time. But as a change of pace, and a nice Christmas/Winter time treat, with some strong cheese, perhaps - I think it goes well with some hot buttered popcorn - I enjoy it and will have some again, after this six is gone!
I was skeptical because it is an AB product, but it was actually not terrible. Aroma of vanilla, spice and malts. Flavors of vanilla, caramel malts and some nuts. It was o.k. and worth a try but i dont know if i would buy this year. Originally rated on 11/12/08. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015
I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.

This was a pretty good brew even though it was made by Michelob. It had a light watery feel to it. The taste was pretty good. Great vanilla taste with a hint of bourbon. I am not sure that they even make this anymore. I would not mind getting my hands on some more. kingofthemtn (55) - - JUL 1, 2015
from notes 1-12-2011. I don’t think this beer is made anymore, but I wish it was. I bought a single bottle because I was intrigued by the vanilla while buying a ton of single bottles at Beers of the World in Rochester. Dark amber color, very little head, tasty malt flavor, smooth with slight vanilla. I think this fall I’ll try to homebrew a porter with bourbon soaked vanilla beans and maybe perle hops. Look: pours a dark Amber. Off white head. Very cloudy.
Smell: sweet caramel. Very light bourbon. Vanilla.
Taste: bananas. Very fruity.
Feel: slight dryness. Odd bitterness on the back.
Overall: not a very good beer. Not what I'm looking for. Could be due to the 2007 "vintage"
First drank: 12/28/14 home.

"not nearly as bad as i was expecting (i bought it as a joke), but after the half way point of a pint, the vanilla was beginning to be a little too much...and there’s not much else there ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 12, 2014
Hints of vanilla, but nothing else redeeming about this weak, cloying attempt at a beer. rollsrace (81) - - AUG 9, 2014
For the price this is a good beer. Picked up a 6 pack for $8.49. semi sweet with a hint of bourbon flavor. Looks like a Red ale. generallee08 (772) - New York, USA - JUN 21, 2014
On top it has a light tan and somewhat fizzy, fast fading head. Its head fades out to nothing quickly and leaves no lacing behind. There is some visible carbonation inside of the rich dark amber colored body with good clarity. The aroma is very sweet with deep candy like malt character with a soft touch of vanilla. The flavor has a thin malty character with some candy like sweetness and mild caramel notes as well as a soft touch of vanilla throughout. The finish dries a bit and brings some light woody oak notes. The texture is a little bit on the thin side and the body is fairly light as well. The carbonation comes off very fizzy.

Bottle to a glass mug. Pours a dark amber color, with a faint yellow head. Aroma is caramel. Flavor pretty much the same. Real sweet and malty, and tastes like caramel. Not that whippy.
