500ml, week 9. Photogenic glossy mahogany appearing black capped with a dense cappuccino foam. Nose coal smoke and black coffee over blackcurrant and sneaking passion fruit. Thick and juicy with a tang of bramble beneath blackened chaff and crumbled coffee bean. Hints of burdock and cola. Finally soapy and suggestive of burnt flowers. Old school with a contemporary twist. Love Wiper and True.

Bottle from Brewer’s Droop, Bristol. Deep brown in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, coffee and black currant aroma, with a hint of pepper warmth and leafy hop.Flavour had more roasted malts, dark fruits and more tingly pepper, before a gentle finish.
