A Pale Ale to remind us of summer and warm us up in these cold wintery days. Brewed with a generous amount of Australian hops, this beer is bursting with tropical fruit flavours and a refreshing zing.

500ml bottle from the superb Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Lovely dark colour, decent head retained. Lovely hoppy, piney aroma. Flavour perhaps a slight disappointment after that at first, slightly too muddy. But decent amounts of hop bitterness and dryness, piney, resinous, long finish. This is a promising brewery. Looking forward to trying more.

500ml bottle, courtesy of Cécile. BB 03/08/2013, batch#2. Different label, with the elephant on hind legs. Hops used are Galaxy and Cascade. Cool label.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Slightly hazy amber, with no head and pancake flat. Aroma of orange fruit and rich tea biscuits with some grassy hops. Flavour had tangerines and tropical fruits, more biscuity malts. Finish was dry and prickly, with a hint of ash in the background. Ok, but lacked some body.

Well-hopped nose with plenty of strong tropical fruit hop characters - underripe mango, some papaya, lychee and grapefruit. Pours a muddy medium gold with no head. The taste is fresh hop notes of burnt orange peel, lemon zest, some candy and a whole lot of pine/spruce bite. Finish is a big dredge of esthery goodness with a good balance of bitter hop notes and malty sweetness. Mouthfeel is near completely flat but doesn’t detract. Very nice.
