Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Dark brown with a small, off-white head. Big, dense coffee and plain chocolate aroma. Lighter flavours of coffee, roastiness and a touch of dark berries, before a hoppy kick and dryish finish. Some blackberry tartness turned up in the after-taste. Excellent. leebotton (406) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2013
Deep chocolatey aroma with burnt notes. Black in appearance with smooth, minimal tan head. There is a fascinating subtle sourness which I would attribute to the berries, definitely is a good alteration to this otherwise excellent execution of a typical brew of it’s style. Roast coffee flavours are complemented and short lasting by comparison to the lingering tartness from the fruit. I had high hopes and wasn’t disappointed. I maybe expected the beer to be a tiny but more adventurous being Wiper and True but that’s not really fair because I am only judging these brewers by their own standard, which is very high.
