COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Milk Stouts are brewed with sugar from cow’s milk to give the beer a sweet, creamy tone. Bristol breweries were once famous for making the best milk stouts around. For our take on the traditional recipe we’ve used copious amounts of chocolate malts and laced it with vanilla to create a milkshake rich, velvety and satisfying dark beer.

MALTS • Maris Otter Pale, Chocolate, Crystal, Roast Barley, Torrefied Wheat.
HOPS • Phoenix

330ml bottle - deep dark fruit and coffee on the nose, hint of blueberry. Taste follows with coffee, milk chocolate with sweet floral notes.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2018 Delicious velvet and sweet dessert style stout. Perfect for Boxing Day drinking, but a little rich for my tastes. Fantastic, but I couldn’t drink more than one. Beautiful stuff, however.

slightly sweet, quite flat, short sweet vanilla-y milk chocolate finish Possibly a touch too sweet, but its lovely. Really live sup to the name. Served after about 15min in the fridge, perfect. Very quaffable for 4.8% but heavy on the milkside

Really, really good. Gorgeous aroma that makes you want to dive right in. Flavours of milk, milk chocolate, raisin. Good balance of sweetness with a slight bitter note. Nice smooth texture. A lovely beer for dessert. One of the best I've ever had this year.

Tiny shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark malts, sugar, milk chocolate, grain, lactose, hay, caramel. Taste is slightly sweet, dark malts, lactose, caramel, burnt grain, milk chocolate, paper, hay, grass, sugar. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Keg @ Drink? Hebden Bridge. Black with an extremely thin head. Milky stout, but nothing really ’milk shake’ about it, it just has a mild sweetness amongst some light roasted malts.

Keg Euston tap. A lot of these sweet stouts taste like the smell of ant repellant. This is no different but is also pretty deep and creamy. Not bad.

Navers (267) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - APR 27, 2017
Bottle from Hippo Beers, Glasgow. Beer served in 14°C, Duvel Glass. Pours black with very little head. Aroma is sour, sweet and roasted. Sourness dominates in the flavor, there are also hints of lactose, chocolate, vanilla and fresh kefir. Decent milk stout, more sour than sweet.
