COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

fellebag (1477) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 24, 2013
Bottle 33cl. Light amber medium head. Color is dark amber brown. Aroma of caramel, nuts and bay leaves. And a lot of aromatic hops, especially for this seasonal beer. Taste is light caramel with some herbs and a sweet balance of roasted malt and hops.

Seffle (464) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - DEC 23, 2013
Bottle from Systemet. Nice mahogganny colour and beige head that rather soon dissipates. Fine aroma with a nice mix of citrus, pine and malt. Refreshing bitterness and maltiness with very little sweetness. Probably perfect for swedish christmassmörgåsbord, but not for plain drinking. A bit to plain and volatile for that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Foffern (1879) - Bodø, NORWAY - DEC 20, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours a clear reddish brown colour with a light beige, coffee-like, medium head. Aroma of fruity hops, pine, cheese and leather. More grassy hops in the flavour with some roasted malt. Has a slick and rich mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. An okay and bitter lager, maybe a bit unbalanced flavour.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 17, 2013
Bottle. Pours a deep ruby-hued body and a small off-white head. Nose is sweet caramel, kitchen herbs (oregano?), pepper, grains and hints of nuts. Taste is burnt sugar, dark malts, grains, herbs, hints of grass and nuts. Medium body and carbonation. OK Christmas ale.

jookos (6762) - FINLAND - DEC 13, 2013
Bottle. Brown clear. XMas spicy malts, a bit of hoppy greens. Surprisingly mellow though, not as overspiced as a lot of xmas brews are. Full bodied, but not super sweet, quite nicely balanced actually. Dry, slight wooden finish. Ok, good, but easily forgot.

Staffan47 (909) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2013

berlinoise2go (689) - NORWAY - DEC 8, 2013
Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Good-looking, clear, deep reddish brown colour. Half-inch, quite sticky light beige head, good retention, plenty of lacing. Aroma of spicy malt, wood, concentrated dried figs/raisins. Medium body, average carbonation, slightly watery. Taste is mostly dry and malty with a thin and papery-dry finish - somewhat disapponting compared to the nose. Still fairly well-balanced and nicely spiced.

hackobock (4029) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 4, 2013
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours clear ruby red with a dense tan head. Aroma has caramel, roasted coffee, light spicy. Taste is semi-sweet with a light bitterness, finish is some roasted notes and a light/medium bitterness. Light/medium body.

3.6
tfredvik (1941) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2013
Clear, deep copper body, the long-lived head laces the glass well. Strong aroma that is surprisingly hoppy, with notes of tropical fruits. It’s also spicy and caramel. Not particularly christmassy, but an inviting aroma nonetheless. The flavours also has notes of burnt sugar, and the tropical fruits feels overripe. In addition I get some herbs (more than spices), and in the long-lasting, moderate bitter finish I pick up traces of coffee. More-ish and refreshing mouthfeel with a light dry finish. An unusually successful vienna! Oh, I’m so easily pleased, just throw in some extra hops in your average beer, and I’m sold.
