Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Good-looking, clear, deep reddish brown colour. Half-inch, quite sticky light beige head, good retention, plenty of lacing. Aroma of spicy malt, wood, concentrated dried figs/raisins. Medium body, average carbonation, slightly watery. Taste is mostly dry and malty with a thin and papery-dry finish - somewhat disapponting compared to the nose. Still fairly well-balanced and nicely spiced. 500 ml bottle. Clear, dark amber body with a medium sized, dense off-white head. Moderate in aroma, malt with a hint of bread, caramel and spices. Flavor is sweet and medium malty, some toast and low bitterness. After a while the Gotland’s malt becomes more prominent and there is a hint of smoked meat here as well. It’s OK, but all in all to anonymous and could be more balanced with more and stronger flavors. Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2014
0.33l bottle. This one has a light blurry really deep dark amber ruby colored body with a medium sized quickly fading dark beige and lacing head. Nice rich aroma, loaded with sweet caramelly dark malty goodness. Some dark fruits are found, as is hints of cardboard and nuts. Smells nice. Tastes quite alright also. Lots of dark malty which sweetness with a mild yeasty and cardboard hint. Light oily on the mouth and the carbonation feels just below average. More dark dried berries and a nice mild hoppy bitterness. Absolutely a fair one to sip at now that its nearing the big Christmas season. 10.11.2013 yngwie (17176) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 8, 2014
Bottle. A clear, amber colored beer with a finger-thick beige head. Weak aroma, mostly malty, but with a touch of fresh fruits. Some dried fruits as well. The flavor has a faint smoked touch, some meaty hints and mostly a light caramel-ish maltyness. Full-bodied and semi-dry on the palate, finishing malty and with a touch of smoke. A pretty boring one, but I like the smoke touch. 140307
