COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

ALLOVATE (3015) - Perth, - OCT 5, 2012
I love the label. Somewhat classically British real ale in its approach. From the bottle just on cool. An unexcited pour needed just a little rousing. Sloppy, dollop of white sets atop an orange copper body that is just shy of bright and filled with streams of very fine carbonation. Aroma holds hints of damp herbs, Anzac biscuits, pine needles, dried bamboo, honeydew and cantaloupe. Somewhat dull by comparison in the mouth. The hops are overly piney and there is a bitter hop and malt clinch just on the swallow - this character sticks around the most. Buttery and yeasty across the mid-palate with a light hint of toasted grain. Not much esters show. Mouthfeel is soft to soapy in texture with a medium light body. Average afternoon quaffer. Bottle 330ml. Brown to amber, white head, medium lacing. Malty and citrusy aroma, but not too exciting. Taste is hoppy resinous. OK for a drinkable summerish pale ale but not one to sip when wanting a Beer Moment...

From bottle on board Fridtjofen 01.07.17. Dark golden. Foamy and persistent off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of tropical fruits, dried fruits, succade, marmalade and citrus zest. Citrus bitterness and succade is lingering on in aftertaste. Balanced with some pale malt sweetness. Good!

Anbefales.

Aroma: tropical fruit, something almost fig-like and caramel. Taste: stone-fruit, caramel tones, herbs, some grass and pine resin as well. Damn good looking, smelling and tasting APA. Really like this brewery.

A little citrusy in aroma, not very intensive in general. Medium bitterness, less caramel flavor than in their ipa. Rest of the flavor is pretty similar, somewhat between grapefruity and herbal.
