[email protected] Reddish amber colour with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, fruits, wood, earth and some mild earthyness. Flavour is sweet wood, toffee, some mild spices as well as some quite nice bitterness in the finish. Nice balance, and hides the alcohol well.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 3, 2012
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours a caramel coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet caramel and coconut aroma, perhaps blackcurrant - any Sorachi Ace in there - or Nelson Sauvin? Medium-bodied only, caramel, a slightly oaky woodiness with some late bitterness and a little alcohol. Nice alright if not exactly a BIG beer. 031212

Leighton (21494) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2014
Bottle at the chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours lightly cloudy amber with a fine, white cream head. Meaty stuff, with lots of ripe fruits. Plenty of aggressively sugary malts. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary finish with lots of rotting fruits. Heavy handed. Meh.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013, 10/08/13. Mahogony brown with a good sized tan head. Nose is dark malts, dark toffee, pitted fruit, sugars. Taste comprises dark fruit, a rich caramel vein pulses through this offering, light smoke, touch woody, light spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Decent enough barley wine.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Amber beer with a decent off white head. Spicy wheat aroma, fruity, banana notes, pear, citrus notes. Alcohol flavor, fruity, wheat, banana notes, bread, spicy notes, lemon. A bit strange, I think this beer needs more time.
