3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy orange body with a thin white head. The aroma is light but pleasant. Mild citrus, nuts, and bread. The palate is a bit thin with some chalky residue...interesting. Completely unoffensive flavor. Overall pretty sweet...sweet citrus and malt. There’s really no hop balance. Not a bad brew. Reminds me a bit of Spotted Cow, just not quite as satisfying.
Bottle; Pour is murky gold with a modest white head in this glass ; some spotty lacing here. The nose is overly sweet, there is some cream...... the flavor profile is bittering initially, some cream... there just isn’t much here. This is a mediocre one, for sure. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 2, 2011
a light clear peach with a bright white head, nice ring, but that’s about it... the aroma is very sweet, generic cream and sugar, a hint of skunk and alcohol... the taste is chemical alcohol and a hint of stall chalk... skip this mess. philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2010
Wisconsin Whitetail Cream Ale--1999 12 oz. Bottle. 4.20% ABV. (3.0 / 5.0) Golden Ale. Malt of the Earth Selection August, 1999. Clear thin light amber color. Light hop floral front that extends to and permeates malt body. Light texture with creamy feel. Hints of fruit. Clean floral spice end. Sampled 8/29/1999. I am always skeptical of anything that claims to be Irish and is not either from Ireland or a stout. These beers are typically bland amber-colored lagers and ales and not much worth trying. This is actually not a bland amber-colored brew though in so far as it’s actually golden in color. Aside from that, it does nothing to quell my skepticism. It is cloudy w/ a small white head. Nose is grainy and lightly fruity and possibly a bit nutty. Lightly sweet with earthy bitterness. Comes off as almost flat but there are still a few prickles of carbonation. There is nothing foul or off about this beer but there is nothing really to like about it either. It is neither particularly flavorful nor particularly drinkable.

Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Semi hazy light amber with small to medium, creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and caramel with a little grain and cardboard. Flavor is sweet grapfruit like malt, yeast, caramel, chalky, some bitterness. Medium body with large bubbled carbonation. Haven’t had a chalky beer in quite a while, ah the memories. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2009
hazy orange, small off-white head, some lacing. caramel nose, grapefruit/citric and malt notes also. malty sweet flavor, creamy caramel, touch of hoppy bitterness. medium bodied, bitter finish. inoffensive to most beer drinkers, exciting to few. too mild/simple/blah. thanks to cornfield for providing the bottle. 12oz bottle 2/6/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a hazy yellowish/golden with a small tight white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and a bit of dough. Taste of malt, hops, caramel, and dough. This medium bodied brew is not nearly as bad as people are rating it IMO. Nice brew. BeerBunker (965) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - FEB 6, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours murky orange with a foamy off-white head. Heavily carbonated. Aroma is of malt, caramel, yeast, and wheat. Taste is of dirty malt, earthy hops, caramel, yeast, and wheat. It’s not bad at all, just very earthy. If you enjoy eating bags of dirt and licking sidewalks, you will enjoy this beer. RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 29, 2009
I liked this a bit more than the rest of the earlier reviewers. Attractive hazy golden pour. The nose is mainly caramel malt sweetness and bread dough. The flavor is a moderately creamy texture melange of dough, caramel/toffee malt, light earthy hop bitterness. Very drinkable. Thanks Cornfield!
