Tap at Fury for a Feast, 2017. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is coconut galore. It actually immediately takes me to a caribbean island vacation. Very pleasant. Some chocolate, and bourbon in there as well. Flavor is coconut, chocolate, caramel, more bourbon. Quite balanced. I think a better name for this would be coconut night fury rather than cookies n’ cream but it’s tasty whatever it is.

Aroma is light chocolate, cream, booze and barrel. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, thick. Taste is Oreo cookie, but dominated by booze and barrel, roasted malt present. Mouthfeel is thick, great carbonation, nice. Overall, these have all been too boozy.

Rich bourbon barrel toffee and deep dark chocolate aroma, slight vanilla background. Looks like coffee with lace. Dark chocolate semi sweet and semi bitter with toffee BB sweetness in the background. Overall, wow, great beer!

Tap. Dark black. Nice lingering brown head and lace. Nose is very sweet bourbon. Rich body. The beautiful balance of sharp bourbon, rich chocolate and bitter cookie. Second only to Dragontrax.

Draft to plastic 5 oz glass at Fury for a Feast. Looks good; a mostly opaque dark cola with thin beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells great! Dark malt, chocolate, Oreos, and oak. Tastes like it smells with a full-bodied mouthfeel. Excellent!

MiBG Summer Fest 2014: Lovely vanilla wafer, chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie thing going on here. Light bourbon and the base beer char, roast, and touch of molasses still found. Uber smooth and equally dangerous as the others.

On tap at the Michigan Summer Beerfest. My first stop of the day and I held high hopes with my last Night Fury experience. And this one did not disappoint. Pours a dark dark black with a nice dark head. A nice aroma of a sweet vanilla cream and roasty bourbon. It’s not just chocolate and vanilla it even has an actual cookie feel and taste. Very roasty and extremely smooth. The sweetness is balanced very nicely by the warming finish. Really good stuff and a top tier brew for my beerfest day.

Sampled at the 2014 MBG Summer Fest. Black pour. Strong bourbon aroma with lots of vanilla, cookies, and light roast. Taste has a strong bourbon presence that covers up the cookies and cream a little too much. Light roast and chocolate as well. This would probably be awesome if the bourbon was more subtle. Still pretty good as is and it’s very smooth for a BB stout.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate and slight cookies and cream ice cream. Blind, I would have said vanilla, but power of suggestion definitely leads me to think cookies and cream. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and cookies and cream ice cream. There is a hint of dark fruit in he middle. The finish has some light roasted nuts and a hint of alcohol. It’s full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel.

From notes. On tap at Witch’s Hat on March 17. The pour is, surprise, jet black with not much head to be found, and no lacing. The aroma is big on bourbon up front, but then moves through a good creamy chocolate note that does smell a bit like the namesake. It transitions to a little more of a bourbony and boozy bitter finish. There is a strong vanilla creamy note on the front of the taste and a little of a bourbon burn. It moves through a good creamy, chocolatey complexity that is rather enjoyable. I think the booziness on this is just a little over done and dominating on the back end and through the aftertaste. The mouth feel is mice and creamy, and a good carbonation that helps it coat a little, but the booziness is a touch much.
