22oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Another new Michigan brewery for me! Minty, herbal and creamy aroma, leaning ever so slightly Summit-like, with a nip of onion and male deodorant (Zythos?). In the mouth, it immediately reveals its weight and heft with a thick, luscious deep body and prickly warm alcohols. Bready and biting. I like the balance as this beer flirts with being an American Strong Ale. I’d take ever so slightly more hop flavor and aroma to balance out the middle of the malt, but the flavors are good and the brewing is clean. This will sip nicely with Thai food.
Tap at Brown Iron Brewhouse. Pours yellow, white head. Aroma is lots of dank notes, mango, orange, sweet tropical notes, maybe a spot of papaya. Flavor is dank orange, mango, tropical notes. Really good. ebone1988 (1966) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Aroma is malt, juicy tropical fruit, pine, skins. Appearance is dark amber golden, off white head. Taste is very malty, light tropical fruit, pine, a little funky. Mouthfeel is medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, not real impressed. JaBier (8027) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Sample at Witch’s Hat on 8/9/15. Pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. Aroma of orange, sweet malt, pine and grapefruit. Sweet malt and orange flavor giving way to pine and light caramel before a bitter grapefruit finish. arminjewell (9688) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 7, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange almost red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of nice grapefruit, orange, citrus notes into a bit of bread, some more caramel, malty notes than the regular with a hint of tropical fruit as well. Taste was mainly grapefruit, orange, and citrus peels, some tropical fruit, hints of biscuit, bread, finishing fairly bitter, slightly dry. flatmatt (1584) - Northville, Michigan, USA - SEP 13, 2014
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clouded orange amber with a white hit. Tons of pine aroma, bordering on spruce due to its heft, leading into grapefruit. Flavor is a bit more even between the grapefruit and the sticky pine. Very nice. So much pine!

Draft - Lots of fleshy grapefruit and nice sweetness. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Well balanced grapefruit and sweetness, with a long bitterness. Grapefruit is king and it is well done. koleminer20 (3704) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. The pour is a very foggy coppery gold with a nice white head and some great lacing. The aroma is very hoppy, with a good citrus note and then WHAM! The smell is reminiscent of my dirty hockey gear. There is a definite skunky character on the back and that I am not fond of. The flavor is incredible. There is a beautifully sweet malt for a second, and then there is a beautifully orchestrated assault of citrusy hops on the tongue. The bitter hoppiness is so damn good. The mouth feel is very good; not overly thin, but not creamy. The carbonation is medium and great, and the bitter citrusy hoppy aftertaste is longed for in a good double IPA paintedmaple (671) - People’s Republic of Bloomington, Indiana, USA - SEP 2, 2013
On tap...I expected this to be oily and bitter, however just the opposite...clean hop flavors and aromas with a nice malty sweetness to balance. A rather creamy and smooth mouth feel with complex green grass, citrus, and conifer notes. Very good. Unclerudy (12) - white lake, Michigan, USA - AUG 2, 2013

Draft at the brewery. Bright golden orange with a medium white head. Citrus pith and hop aromas. Citrus, resin and some thick grains. Medium/heavy body. Really smooth.
