Tap @ Brewery: Black, black, more black, topped with a small sheet of khaki foam that recedes quickly to a timid collar. Aroma is a very subtle mixture of roast, cherry, bourbon, wood, & milk chocolate. Of all the Night Fury variants, this one has the mildest nose, but it’s very well put together, if that makes sense. Taste has lots of smooth bourbon out of the gate, never hot, with a follow-up of tannic oak, light reminders of ripe cherries, sweet milk chocolate, & perhaps a hint of vanilla. Cherry presence gets stronger & sweeter with time, inherits a mild syrupy aspect but never gets too sweet, tart, medicinal, or out of place. Tannins coat the palate with sweet milk chocolate covered cherries & faint bourbon in the aftertaste. A few people said this was too syrupy & sweet but I thought it was on-point. Though the bourbon presence isn’t quite to the Bourbon County level, this beer blows BCS Cherry Rye out of the water as far as barrel aged cherry stouts go.

Tap at Fury for a Feast. Huge aroma of bourbon soaked cherries with some light chocolate and coffee too. Tastes the same. Not medicinal at all like some cherry bourbon beers. Moderately sweet. Cherry fades on the back end leaving vanilla, chocolate and light bourbon. Loved it.

Best of show for the 2015 Fury fest. Lots of cherry, adding some sweetness, plenty of chocolate and bourbon to back it up.

Cherry toffee aroma with slightest gentle coffee. Appears dark, nearly opaque brown, like coffee. Taste is very rich, sweet caramel and coffee but balanced with bitter roast/slightly burnt campfire marshmellow. Light, but a little oily texture. Overall, very good.
