Growler from the brewery. Deep brown with a dark head. Deep coffee and light chocolate. Thin, but delicious.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate syrup light caramel, roasted malt, nuts, and a hint of coffee. It?s a very dark brown with some orange highlights and a small tan head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate. The finish quickly turns to moderate roasted nuts with a touch of coffee. It?s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Roasted coffee aroma. Flavors of coffee, milk, nuts, malt and toast. A bit mild but nice tasting.

Tap. Super dark black. No head. Aroma is straight coffee. Decently full body gives way to thin coffee taste--sort of like drinking old, bitter coffee, but not in a bad way.

Draft - Espresso and some light sweetness. Jet black with a beige head. Espresso and nice dark malts. Coffee overwhelms, but is still nice with very little bitterness or acidity.

No surprise that flavors of coffee and chocolate dominate. Solid coffee stout.

From notes. On tap at Witch’s Hat on March 17. The pour is black with a little ring of khaki head and no lace. The aroma is ALL coffee. It’s just fresh ground coffee as you’d put it into the filter. Nothing else. The flavor is just as dominated, with maybe a little roastiness in there, but it remains all coffee. The mouth feel is a bit light, and the lack of carbonation really doesn’t help. The aftertaste is dry, and all coffee once more.

Sample draft at the brewery. Pours black with small head that fades to ring. Aroma is entiredly fresh brewed coffee, very nice. Very strong, bitter, lightly roasted coffee taste as well. Thin body. Not much going on here besides coffee but it’s still really enjoyable and easy to drink.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has notes of musty coffee and bitter roasted malts. Flavor starts with roasted malts and dark grains and has earthy coffee coming out in the finish. A touch thin.

On tap at Witch’s Brew BP. Poured a murky/muddy brown with a thin sized off white head (poured almost identical to the Witches Hunt). Aromas of coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, cream, roasty, and chocolate. I like coffee in my ’Coffee’ beers, and the coffee was definitely here.
