Very dark brown color, almost black. Served to me without much head, little more than a ring left but that ring persisted forever. One of the best smelling beers I’ve ever put a nose to. Nose has notes of raisin, plum, pear, banana, and a hint of cherry. Flavor is fruity and full. Mouthfeel is rich and slippery. Lingering fruity finish.
Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, with sweetish dried dark fruits, raisins, yeast, and forest fruit jam. Flavour is sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Not a bad Dubbel, lacks candysugar which is a good thing, with an atypical take on the dried fruits you expect from a Dubbel. jvhemert (397) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 22, 2017

Dark brown beer. Typical special witkap taste. It is made with mains so I think that is the special taste. It makes sense. SimonBlok (554) - GRONINGEN, NETHERLANDS - FEB 23, 2016

Kolor: ciemno br?zowy, z widocznymi drobinkami w ?rodku. Piana bardzo obfita, o kremowej konsystencji, w kolorze brudnej bieli.
Aromat: ciemne owoce, ?liwy, je?yny, sporo przypraw korzennych.
Smak: ponownie ciemne owoce, karmel, przyprawy, mo?e nawet wanilia. Pojawia si? te? delikatna nuta alkoholowa nadaj?c piwu likierowego charakteru.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is hazy dark brown colored and has a cream colored head, with livingly CO2.
The aroma is roasted malts, a fruitiness from dark fruits and some yeast and spices.
The taste is light sweet and malty with some tones of caramel. After that a light sourness and bitterness from the spices is noticable.
The finish is light sour and refreshing and a little bitter.
OK Dubbel, but there are better ones. TBone (17440) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 20, 2015

Deep ruby color, small steady beige head. Aroma has prunes, some kind of fruityness and light alcohol&caramel. Medium-bodied. Quite empty for this ABV. Light caramel, prunes and some light spiceyness in the flavor. Not very complex.
Donker bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig, licht zoet, ietwat kruidig.
