What? Inspired by the malty and hoppy beers of the Great Northwest, Green Man Ale is a rich and layered beer that lies somewhere between an IPA and a Red Aleónot exactly radical, but not quite the conformist, Green Man Ale just is. Why? An Eclectic blend of malts and plenty of northwest hops have come together, not worrying about fitting in, and simply being content in walking their own path of malty hoppiness (always need a good hop pun). Green Man is excellent when paired with wild salmon or as an inspirational elixir during your favorite pagan ceremony.

On tap at the brewery. Amber, light hazy appearance with a sticky, lacy, off-white head. Aroma of light toffee, caramel malts, toasted grains and light hops. The hops are more pronounced in the flavor, mild to medium bitterness, crisp, smooth and lightly sweet. Average body, nicely balanced, pretty tasty overall.

On tap last August. Listed as 6.5% and 70 IBUs. Pours an apricot-copper with some head and lace. Aroma of tropical fruit rind and grapefruit hops. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of tropical fruit rind, floral and straw hops, cream of tartar, slight malt sweetness. Overall bold and tasty with significant root type bitterness that makes it a bit rough drinking.

On tap at Witís End. Color is golden brown with a nice off white head. Aroma is a sweet malt scent with a sour note hiding in back. Palate is smooth with a medium body. Flavor comes in malty with so caramel, then the hops show giving citrus and a mild bitterness. In the after taste the bitter stands out. Overall I just didnít like this one all that much.

Pour on tap at the brewery is hazy dark orange, nice white head. Aroma brought notes of big pine and grassy hops, slight grapefruit notes come out as well, some nice caramel notes and a slight spice and earth note comes through as well. Taste is nice and hoppy up front with pine, grass and some slight juicy citrus notes, hints of caramel and biscuit through the middle come to some slight spice, finishes fairly bitter. Nicely done.
