3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 Tap at the brewery - dark ruby beer - very hefty, more along the lines of a stout - despite having so many ingredients, everything comes together well - the bitterness of the dark malt works well with moderate notes of spicy rye and woody hops - the dash of smoked malt adds an earthiness and a slight autumnal, campfire kind of quality - there is a subtle chocolate sweetness - toasty rye finish, with lingering bitterness - very tasty.
On tap at the brewery. Dark brown appearance with an off-white head and lacing. Aroma of dark malts, rye spice, bitter chocolate, coffee and a touch of smoke. Similar flavor, light bitterness, mild sweetness, quite dry. Medium body, pretty tasty. UncleKorm (1337) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 19, 2014

On tap at brewery last August. Pours a black color with amber head and lace. Aroma of dark malts and cocoa. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark roasted malts, carob, bitter chocolate, minerals. Overal similar to an English export stout. ogiergrove (120) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Light and toasty porter, with little noticeable on the nose (but that's not unexpected for a porter. Very nice mahogany color.

Black with a creamy head. Smokey aroma with some malt. Tastes just like it smells with a sweet malt front and a tiny smokey finish.

On tap at Wit’s End. Color is black with a nice brown head. Aroma of deeply roasted malt and a faint hop note in back. It has a bolder medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor comes in with sweet roasted malt, this is backed by mellow hops and bitterness. In the after taste the sweetness fades letting the bitterness hang on the end. Overall this is just a great brew, very tasty. Headbanger (4022) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2012
4oz sample brewery. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Taste of the same with more chocolate. This nedium bodied brew is damn tasty. wchesser (2162) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Lots of bitter dark roast coffee and hops on nose and taste. Didn’t finish my glass. Want more malt sweetness and balance from my porters. Wanted to like it for the small guys...didn’t. onceblind (10889) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Tap at Wit’s End. Clear black with a small light khaki head. Interesting aroma of some chocolate covered sausage with perhaps some bitter herbal hoppiness. Flavor is kinda the same on a medium/full body. Smokey chocolate notes mix with something that reminds me of artisan sausage, finishing on a mild herbal bitterness. Perhaps a bit too hoppy and not sweet enough for my liking. Steve_0 (3818) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Tap at the brewery. Poured a clear brown with a red tint and a frothy tan head. Aroma is roasty, nutty, toffee, and light cocoa. Taste is very nutty, roasty, toffee, and chocolate with a lingering bittersweet finish. Light body with soft carbonation. Ok.
