Bottle at home. Nice amber colour with a white head. It has a malty aroma with a very slight, unpleasant chemical tang. Taste is sweet with slight bitterness. It has a citrus-like flavour with a good malt, chewy mouthfeel. Let down very much by that aroma. I might try another some time to see if there is an improvement.

Good looking orange beer with white or beige head. Strong foam, mild aroma with citrus notes - nothing exciting. Good to drink, lovely light bitterness, medium body. The alcohol ending lasts for a while. Nice, but not spectacular.

Golden blond with an off-white head. Nose: Malts, some alcohol liqueur, spices, frsh bread. Taste : Malts, yeast, distinct metal in the back. Agressive carbonation, sweet finish, but also bit fry. Another Belgian tripel, have had much better...

Alengrin (5722) - BELGIUM - NOV 9, 2014
Spiced tripel named after a 15th century Flemish knight. Off-white, dense and moussy, sticky head, very thick and rocky; darkish amber colour, brownish hue, cloudy. Estery and malty aroma of pear, apricot, pineapple, wheat, nutmeg, cake, dried leaves, cloves, mint, candi syrup and some cooked cabbage-like DMS. Sweetish onset, orangey and applish, caramelly backbone, candi sugar, spicier towards the finish with some ethereal retronasal, mint- and aniseed-like spiciness, strong carbo, dryish, herbally hopped finish, medium long. A bit different and far from bad.

Nice tripel beer, a bit grassy however, but we didn’t need another beer that refers to a municipality where it isn’t brewed. Dime a dozen.

Een bier waar er zovele van zijn, niet veel speciaals aan de smaak. Dan zijn er andere die beter zijn

18/V/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 14/II/14 (2014-507) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for doing my shopping!

Little cloudy dark orange to amber beer, big creamy solid white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit soapy, coriander, floral, grassy touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of orange peel, honey, bit sugary, oxidized, probably due to age so not taking that into account. Aftertaste: little bitter, honey, sugary, some orange peel, oxidized.
