Beer Festival 2010. Bronze beer with a strong head. The aroma is weakly bitter, and the flavour is strongly toffee. Overall an average highly bitter beer.
Cask, Leicester Fest 10. Golden with a small head. Aromas are grain and cardboard with some citrus. Flavours are biscuit malts with weak lemon. Quite flaccid and boring.

Tasting notes from Norman Knight (2004). Amber-brown with thin head. Sweet malt and biscuit aroma notes. Fruity malts with balancing citrus flavours. Dry finish. Nice, but prefer the "toad" for a session. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2006

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] A hazy amber beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet estery combined with diacethyl. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. haddonsman (1234) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2005
Cask conditioned and handpulled at the Brunswick, Derby. Looks like I got the rogue barrel, then; barnyard aroma, salty taste. Not promising.
