Cask; Status uncertain. Also available bottled.
This is one helluva beer! Deep dark brown and phenomenally complex. The aroma is liquorice initially but you’ll catch coffee notes and some pleasant sulphurousness to accompany it along with a general malty warmth. The taste is roast and a little burnt, but not to the point of causing bitterness…that comes from the hops later. There’re fruit and dark chocolate flavours and the mouthfeel is smooth and sleek. The aftertaste dries the palate and is a touch astringent but not unpleasantly as the hops begin to kick in even more. A couple of mouthfuls and ten minutes later the aftertaste still lingers.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours almost pitch black with no head at all. Aroma is light roasted malts, caramel, coffee and dark fruits. Taste is moderate roasted, sweetness like raisins and prunes, plum and dark red fruits, easy light roasty bitterness towards the end, very low carbonation suits this brew well
