Ben Gleason has been growing organic wheat for twenty eight years at his farm in Bridport, Vermont, just ten miles from our brewery. Our brewers have combined Ben’s organic raw wheat, organic rolled oats, and organic 2-row malted barley. The resulting golden brew is then mildly spiced with organic coriander and orange peel and fermented with an authentic Belgian yeast to create this complex and refreshing white ale. A fitting salute to Ben Gleason. Available in 6 pks, cases, and draft for the summer.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. 5/20/10. Pours a lightly hazy pale yellow color with a thin head. Fair head retention and no sign of lacing. Aroma of spice, caramel, bread and banana. The taste is bread, caramel, spice (cinnamon, coriander), a bit of toastiness. Medium bodied. A little on the weird side, but still decent.

Not a bad white ale if you can get past the "certified organic" statement on the label. More malty than most Belgian pale ales and just a little darker. Slight spice aroma with some sweetness. Nice clean mouthfeel that goes well in the summer heat. finishes weak and watery.

Bottle 12oz. Yellow hazy ale with huge wide head and good lacing. Smell is hoppy specially on American hops. Nice wheat beer but more malty that usual Wit, hop character is high and very American, less astringent very citric ,quite watery finish.

Bottle… Pours hazy and yellow with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Yeasty, spicy, citrusy aroma – white bread, coriander, clove and orange peel. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with mild carbonation. Well-balanced, lightly spicy, bready flavor. Short, crisp, clean finish.

12oz bottle 3/23/10 (Binny’s Plainfield)-50° in Tumbler-Pours a cloudy hazy yellowish gold with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, coriander, orange peel, yeast, and spices. Yummy. Taste of the same with the coriander, orange, and spices really coming through. This light to medium bodied brew is better than expected and really bring out the various aromas and flavors. Nice job.
