Decent amber pour w/ a big foamy white head that leaves lacing. The aroma is only slightly malty w/out much hop scent whatsoever. The taste is a blend between sweet malt & hop bitterness & it almost works! Not quite as bad as the scores may indicate. It’s drinkable if nothing else! slowrunner77 (12471) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 27, 2014
"a little more assertive on the flavor and aroma than Bison, otherwise still fairly average. a little too much carbonation on too little body, otherwise ok."

On tap at Goodmans American Pie. Hazy golden orange with flat head and lace in clear plastic. Mild orange and spice aroma. Medium toffee honey orange peach fruity sweet with medium bitter citrus and herbal medium dry finish. Medium body. Pretty medium. 60minuteman (1764) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a beautiful lightly hazed orange-copper color with a two finger off white head. The head has big carbonation bubbles entrapped within, which upon popping slowly over time give a lighter level of lacing.
Smell - The aroma is a blend of sweet and hop. A nice caramel sweetness acts as a base with hop aromas of a heavy floral and earthy hop smell. With these aromas is also a very light amount of a sweet orange hop as well. Quite nice.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready flavor mixed with a light citrus and floral/herbal smell. The herbal and floral hop intensify and drown out the citrus as the taste goes on. Also as the taste advances the lighter sweetness that was present upfront decreases as well. More toward the end of the taste a large earthy hop flavor comes to the tongue. The earthy, when mixed with the other hop flavors leaves a bitter, but yet somewhat sweet flavor on the tongue as some citrus sweetness comes to the taste as well. The aftertaste these flavors leave on the tongue is quite interesting.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the above average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is just below average. The creaminess really accentuates the earthy hop nicely, although a slightly higher carbonation level may have been nice for the other hop flavors.
Overall – It is actually quite different then the “more standard” ~ 6-7 % abv IPA. Not nearly as citrus and much more earthy. It is a nice break from the more traditional and is well worth a try.

Hazy amber pour. Light white head. Crisp floral and spicy hop aroma. Medium caramel sweetness in aroma as well. Flavor is similar. Floral. Tropical hop flavor. Pretty substantial malt flavors. Sweet toast. Clean medium bitter finish.

slightly cloudy burnt orange. Piney and rindy and dank nose. Chewy oak and pine and slight hint of cheese. French bread, very astringent bitterness. Chewy pine cone. berkshirejohn (6588) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2014
12oz bottle from a Wegman’s in Buffalo, NY. An unattractive hazy amber pour with a tight cream head; aroma of stewed vegetables; soft sweet taste with some caramel and Belgiam yeast; and a dry vegetal bitterness giving a slightly rasping finish. Not at all good. Probably not an IPA. DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2014
Bottle from...Whole Foods? Veiled orange with a low white collar. Unusual aroma for a US IPA with banana and lemon candy; grass, coriandered perfume, green herb. Some rocket leaves and pissed-on bridleway . White candy sugar Belgian banana and pepper flavour; sappy hop, grass, marmalade. Good brew, bizarrely Belgian-accented with the impression of spicing or lowlands yeast and hops. Neat cordial. Doesn’t fit any template of US IPA yet encountered, but a ringer for no end of tangy Belgians. SilentJo (68) - Chocowinity, North Carolina, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Out of the bottle, apparently past it’s date, carbonation is moderate and the first few sips carried a citrusy taste but past that all I get is bitter hoppy flavor. Fans of hops may enjoy this, but I’m not.
