Opaque black stout. Palate seems light for a stout. Silky too. Fresh stout. No roasty malt or dryness here. Nor is it bitter. Just mild dark malt/ Somewhat one dimensional but a perfectly serviceable stout.
Cask at Blind Tiger. Stellar beer. Poured a luscious black with a thick tan head. Nose of roasty malts and some light cocoa and coffee. Flavor was tight, mostly roasted malts with some great vanilla notes on the tail. (The casks for Blind Tiger were special in that they had vanilla beans added to them at some point during the brewing process.) Nice, burnt malt finish. Rich flavor without being overbearing on the abv. This would make an extreme sessioner. Cheers.

Bottle. Black beer with a small but lasting brown head. Licorice aroma, milky chocolate, cocoa powder, figs, soot, some vanilla notes in the background, viol, coffee notes, some raisins. Coffee flavor, licorice, figs, cocoa powder, vanilla, roasted, soot, some smoked notes. A bit thin bodied, but otherwise a very nice beer. Milk chocolate finish, vinous, grassy, licorice and some vanilla. Oakes (17699) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2004
Copper-brown colour (too light). Metallic, roasty aroma. Thin body. Roast is noted but muted. Like doughnut shop coffee. jtclockwork (16602) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours black with tan head. Nose of sweet chocolate, cocoa, flaked oats and sweet milk. Taste is flaked oats, coffee, flaked barley, sweet chocolate and a touch of lactose. Well balanced. Body on the thinner side but kept together quite well. Very sessionable. bhensonb (15251) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 13, 2006
Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. The appearance is much like Guiness. Perhaps the head disappears a bit sooner. The start is hard to pin down, but it quickly moves to roasty chocolate, and finishes with that "burnt" malt flavor that used to be found in Guiness some decades ago. A good substantial mouthfeel, very smooth, a bit earthy. I’m very impressed. DSG (14838) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JUN 3, 2012
Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Black with a huge (too huge) light brown head. Aroma of coffee, some roastiness and a bit of fruity notes. Sweetish flavor with malt, some roastiness, coffee notes and a slightly drier finish. Medium-bodied.
