3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark coffee color with a thin creamy head. Complex malty, chocolaty aroma, similar tastes, very smooth beer. Finishes with a slightly bitter roasted taste.
From Aug 2006
Poured from 12oz bottle a clear very dark brown with amber hues
and a large head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a fine layer
with good lacing.
The smell is all roasty and toasty and has big notes of hot chocolate.
The taste is really big. Roasted malt and a semi sweet molasses grab my taste buds right from the go and there's a hop bitterness that doesn't show up for me until near the finish but it does give the over all presentation of this oatmeal stout the proper umphh.
Bottom line: This is a sample of the style that everyone should try given the chance.

Tasted this in the Valhalla Bar on 815 & 9th Avenue, New York on the 22nd September 2015. Keg dispense, poured into a flight glass. Dull black in colour with ruby highlights and a thin off white head. Slight hint of mocha coffee present in the malty aroma. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malts deliver a roast grain flavour with milky coffee and liquorice. Dry dusty hop prickle comes through in the aftertaste. Malt in the finish with roast malt grain, mocha coffee, dark chocolate all present in the palate. A decent session Sweet Stout. AStoutFan (26) - Geneva, New York, USA - AUG 27, 2015
It is silky smooth. Run of the mill smell. A little tangy for my taste. Sweet and roasty but wasn’t picking up to much chocolate outside of the smell. Thought the taste was closer to coffee. Not going to give this extra points for being organic. MarkSachon (1062) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2015
12 oz bottle. This was very good but i couldn’t say it was any better than its cousins in the non-organic realm. jsnicholas (709) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - AUG 12, 2015

Bottle from Harvest Market, Bedford NH. Aroma is rich roasted malts with hint of coffee grounds. Appearance is dark, dark, dark brown--almost black, and opaque. No head and no lacing. Taste is medium sweet with bittersweet smoky and coffee-like finish. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is really nice. Appearance could be better with some kind of head but, other than that, this is pretty strong all around. Carlisle (865) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2015
Bottle. Black color with tan head and substantial lacing. Chocolate aroma. Chocolate notes.

Bottle from Nikki’s Liquors in Providence, RI. Dark rich brown pour with a creamy dense beige head. Aroma is oat and mocha. Hint of roastiness in the taste, but also some chocolate sweetness. Fuller palate. Solid brew. Quick3Beers (1513) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 3, 2015
One of the first oatmeal stouts I’ve ever had that was worth having more than one. I think this would go great in an ice cream. Voodoo (716) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2015
Pours a very dark brown with a dense light brown head which lingers.......aroma of maltiness, slight coffee.....taste is quite smooth up front, toastiness, slight bittering, then tailing off a bit thin on the back end. Without the palette holding up in the end it’s a bit lacking, though it started out well.
