COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong and well hopped for the voyage sending IPA from the Wolds to the World. Interestingly brewed with a pale Wold grown malt base, a triple hop blend and Maize for the head retention. Such triple hopped beers need hot full flavoured foods to accompany them!

Bottle in Spainsburys beer-off. Shining gold without inclusions under a skim of white froth. Aroma initially canned corn and phosphorous warming into more promising English woodland and mandarin. Taste: good tangy satsuma hop rounded with lingering malt suggesting cashew. More of that slightly dank English woodland taste I cant quite capture: Coombe Abbey? Creamy mouthfeel, dabs of heat, peach, well-poised bittersweetness, almond. Slightly saline. Not bad.

Pours clear, golden. Ring of white head. Not much aroma, just a bit of grass and grains. Reminds me more of a German pilsner than an IPA, really. Its a little bitter, finish is a little dry. Its a not all that aromatic.

Clear amber, no head. Minimal aroma. Lacks the usual bitter hoppiness of an IPA, except at the very end. A bit sticky.

Bottle - pours bright light golden with a foamy white head. Good retention, okay lacing. Aroma of pine, lemon and malts. Taste of earth, tangerine, a little pine and light tropical fruits. Medium body, light carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours pale yellow orange with foamy white head. Aroma mellow with resin, grass and slight floral notes. Slightly oily mouthfeel. A really solid IPA in the American style.

On tap @Le Bon Bock (Rome). Pours golden with a minimal white head. Aroma is fruity and grassy with apple, lemon notes, malt (biscuit). Flavour is medium malty, light sweet with a decent bitterness. Mediumbody, light carbonation. So so...

500ml brown bottle, filtered, from Waitrose. Clean sweet biscuit malt with moderate hop levels giving a slightly unbalanced beer. For my taste I would prefer fewer hops and more malt character. Drinkable but not my thing and I had low enjoyment of this.

Bottle split at CC2, 05/03/16, big thanks to Mr Pink. Clear golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is pale malts, straw, light bread, orange. Taste comprises grain, orange peel, lemon rind, bready notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bittering close. Not my idea of an IPA !!! Extremely whelming for the style.
