COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Seasonal - Winter
A rich dark Ale, ideal for keeping the chill of Winter at bay. The roasted barley and pale chocolate malt give a deep red hue, the hop combination of Progress, Styrian Goldings and Cascade give bitterness with a soft spicy yet fruity edge, resulting in a winter beer that is well balanced, with an underlying maltiness, and a subtle fruit aroma, excellent with Yorkshire Parkin, Christmas Pudding, Rich Fruit Cake and Mince Pies.

Scopey (14987) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2017
Bottle in Oldmeldrum thanks to Claire & Karl. It pours clear darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, wood, cacao, dried fruits, treacle, burnt toffee, cola. The taste is pretty fruity upfront, tangy blueberry, fruit cake, day, tannin, earthy, wood, treacle, cola and leather with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty fruity and easy drinking.

Malty sweet Aroma. Drank from bottle no idea on appearance. A nice lightly bitter beer with hints of sweetness.

gramity (1672) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 11, 2017
Deep red, almost black, thin but lasting creamy beige head and gentle condition. Bitter chocolate, roast coffee beans and a little vanilla in the nose, initial fruity dryness in the mouth becomes more chocolate sweet then coffee bitter with time, finish is dry and fruity and a little unbalanced.

Bottled. Mild liquorice aroma. Black with hint of red appearance - creamy head. Pleasant taste - slight bitterness and mild liquorice sweetness but doesn’t have the depth I would have expected from something at 6%. Medium bodied. Drinkable but a bit disappointing.

330 mL bottle. Dark brown pour, small foamy tan head that dissapears quickly without lacing. Dark malt aroma, molasses, dark fruit. Moderate sweet / bitter taste with flavors of raisins, dark fruit, molasses. fairly bitter bite at the end. Body is a little thin.

bdleedahl (462) - , Saskatchewan, CANADA - JAN 2, 2017
Has almost a sweetness to the roasty malts, dark berry-like flavours. Good beer, there are no glaring issues with it at all. The flavours are mild, but all mesh well. 2016 advent calendar.

DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 26, 2016
Bottle, beer advent calendar. Deep brown, clear, with mahogany highlights and a very low beige head. Carbonation is proper, but head retention very poor. Brown bread and raisins, dark caramel, medium bodied, low bitterness.

AgentAle (1761) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 25, 2016
Aroma is caramel, toffee, and roasted malts. Taste is rich and thick malts, brown sugar, fig and caramel. Light bittering hops on the finish. Appearance is a dark brown with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.
