3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Has almost a sweetness to the roasty malts, dark berry-like flavours. Good beer, there are no glaring issues with it at all. The flavours are mild, but all mesh well. 2016 advent calendar.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle @ Matt’s. Canadian Edition. Pours a moderate opaque dark brown. Nose is toasted malts with a sweet toffee note. Flavour is toasted, quite bready, and subtle sweetness. Needs some more character in my opinion.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, with bready notes and light toffee. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, bready notes, and light toffee. Nicely constructed, but not very deep or complex. Decent.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Canadian Edition, of course. Medium-brown colour, a touch of haze. Toffeeish, fruity...very English. There’s a whiff of alcohol in there as well. A bit flat, and that makes it a bit crackery, with a hint of the toffee. But it’s too bad the sugars aren’t coming through on the palate as much as the nose promises.
