Bottle. Pours cloudy gold. White head. Nose and taste of yeast, lemon, apple and light breads. Taste has some sheet metal notes in it, which is a bit off putting. Could be a bad bottle? Medium body.

{thoughts} Strikingly similar to Duvel, except for a citrus rind addition.

{elements} Hazy, peach hue; very tall, white foam. Duvel-like pilsner malt and banana aroma with an addition of citrus. Moderate sweetness, moderate acidity, light-moderate bitterness; acidity and carbonation play down the sweetness, making it seem fairly dry. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, creamy texture.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 23/11/2012
Refreshing. soapy and citrus-like aroma. Very much like tripel. Palate is dry. Flavour has citrus too and it is rather close to Duvel. Pleasant, but does not reach the top.

330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 23/11/2012.
Pours a slightly unclear yellow colour with a large white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malts and also some floral notes. Flavour of citrus, caramel malts, some floral notes and sweet fruits. Smooth, sticky mouthfeel with a fruity, caramel-like finish. Pleasant.

Golden colour, firm white head. Aroma malty, light hoppy, quite pronounced yeast. Vanilla, apricot, some white pepper. Flavour malty, apricot, quite sweet. Pleasant bitterness coming through. I quite like this one!
Though I’m taking into account that part of the appeal might be that this beer was my break from Jupiler and Dommelsch @ Rock Werchter.
(Bottle @ Café ’t Anker, Haacht)

Bought a bottle of this beer at Tilburg Drinkt 2010, together with the Wolf 8. This one had a better smell, but the Wolf 8 tasted better. Both pretty nice beers though.

Koelschtrinker (20399) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 1, 2011
Mild bananiger Antrunk. Nett.
