WheatKing's rating

3.1
   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
WheatKing (1338) - Phnom Penh, - JUN 24, 2012
(Bomber from Liquor Plus Douglas) A robust porter, I find the alcohol a little too strong on this one. Tastes like it should be 8%, not 6. Apart from that though, very oily mouthfeel with a nutty finish, as a good porter should have IMHO.

I like porters and this one was smooth but not as rich and flavourful as others. The head was there very briefly.

tmalaher (306) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 12, 2016
Tasted on tap at Wolf Brewing Company in Nanaimo, BC. On nitro. Dark, chocolate and coffee, smooth.

2.5
mcberko (18586) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 8, 2016
On tap at Wolf, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out dry toasted malts that dominate. Flavour is toasty and rather fruity, with crisp toasted malt and a dark fruitiness to it. Thin palate to it, with some off-notes that are inexplicable. Not very refined.

3.4
Ferris (16303) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 3, 2016
Draft - Chocolate and some roast. Deep jet brown with a decent small light brown head. Light chocolate and a very nice mellow dark malts. Very easy drinking although a bit heavy on the palate.

Black, small tan head. Lightly roasted nose. Medium body with light roast profile, notes of condensed milk.

3.4
reebtogi (6350) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 17, 2014
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark pitted fruits and chocolate with some hints of coffee. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a light coffee and hop bitterness. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. A pretty good porter that is worth sampling.

3.6
RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 8, 2014
Dark pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is roasted males, coffee and a little earthy. Flavour is the same. Quite roasted and fuller bodied for a porter. Nice.

stantheman (1098) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 25, 2014
A 650 ml bomber from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. Not much need be said about this one. A very average and enjoyable porter with coffee and chocolate overtones. Highly drinkable, but little complexity. A simple porter.

3.2
Gerbeer (3897) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 29, 2012
650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with little head. Aromas of roasted malts, nuts, and instant coffee. Oily as stated, though still has lots of carbonation. Flavors of roasted malts and watery dark fruit. It’s light. OK it’s a porter, but something is missing. It’s refreshing (odd comment for a porter) but not lasting.
