Fig and plum aromas from a dark copper coloured body with a tiny white head, Quite sweet and fruity with an aftertaste that is quite dry, obviously requiring more beer! Beese (2743) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2014

Bottle. Ruby with a soft white head. Sweet malt, nuts, biscuit, old pennies and some apple and strawberry, which adds a slight sharpness. BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2013
500ml Bottle conditioned: BBD end of Aug 2013. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 20 Jun 2013.
No sediment left the bottle: A beige creamy head sat on top of a brown body with a red hue to it.
Sweet malty nose and taste: caramel with nuts. Balanced by some fairly bitter hops towards the end of each sip.
Good body depth, rich and full of malty flavours: a very good beer from a brewery that always seems to impress me. RichTheVillan (7856) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2013

What a ridiculous name for a beer. "I’ll have a half of granny, please". Cask @ The Tanners Hall, Darlington. The pour’s a tawny reddish brown color with a small white head. Classic ESB appearance, really. The nose ius red berries, strong caramel sweetness, light grass. The taste is more rich, sweet caramel. A hint of chocolate. Slight accents of fruity apricot and red apple. Honeyed toast. Lightly dry finish. Robust. Overall, a decent effort. Pretty straight-forward stuff.
