Cask - The Glasshouse (JDW), Norwich. Poured ruby in colour with a fine, frothy and loose off-white head. Mid fruits and dry hop tones on the nose, some toffee too. Nice balance of flavours - sweet, lightly toasted malt notes up front moving to a dry, subtle hop bitterness with a roasty edge in the finish. Medium in body, quite a soft palate texture with low carbonation. berkshirejohn (6451) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2010
Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Copper coloured with a dense cream head; fruity aroma; rather thinly bodied with purple fruit and toffee flavours; the finish starts with a short dry bitterness, but then develops a sweeter butterscotch flavour. kwik-lime (1915) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2010
Cask at JDWs on Whitehall. Far milder than the commercial description would have you believe, I found the palate to be slightly watery and unimpressive. Overall this was a decent session beer though with a pleasant fruitiness coming through and going down nicely. anders37 (26251) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 3, 2009

Dark ruby color, small beige head. Aroma of caramel, iron, diacetyl and rust. Caramelly, toffeish flavor. Some nutty notes. Low bitterness. Very much like a mild.
Cask Conditioned Handpump Sun Inn Kislingbury. A dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is very malty with notes of sweet caramel also. Malty sweet in the mouth also with caramel and coffee. could have done with being a degree or two cooler on what was a very hot day. Alphadelic (2235) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 1, 2009
Rich and caramel looking. Very sweet and dusty, along the lines of crappy chocolate. Not sure I like this much, A bit sterile and almost burny. It has some nice flavours in the finish but all round the overwhelming bleachiness of it all is a huge put-off. So metallic and sickly. Gary (1999) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2009
cask. I forget where .I forget when. I forget who I was with...but my notes praise this dark ESB. fonefan (48761) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2009
I remember now, a pub while spending a day or 2 in Kent this week...I forget the pubs name . A robust ,rich beer. The beer drinks down feeling stronger than 4.8 % alcohol....and that is a fun illustion . As this beer is pretty heafty ,its maltiness is powerful. Treacly caramel.I dig that most of the time.A little burnt on the palate.Tepid and flavoursome .
