Pours an opaque black on tap with fluffy tan head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt coffee, and a hint of booze. Taste follows with a nice bitter back end, just a hint of dark cherries over lots of roast. Solid Russian imperial stout. garregus (2) - - MAR 4, 2013 does not count
On tap at Popkin Tavern. Pours dark with minimal head. Great nose of coffee, follows through in the taste. Big, boozy, pleasant. Definitely a solid imperial stout. magsinva (1423) - Virginia, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Tap @ Capital ale house - pours a typical pitch with a thin white head. aroma is very smokey coffee with some chocolate notes. Taste is smokey with a bitter dry thing going on. The alcohol is noticeable, but not over powering. overall, I’m not loving this one. DiarmaidBHK (5881) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Draft at Capital Ale house Innsbrook. Pours black with an inch of thin khaki foam which leaves no lacing. Smoke notes on the nose. A fair amount of alcohol on the tongue. Can’t say I’m really loving this one. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - APR 12, 2012
Tap. Very dark with creamy mocha head. Smells roasty with coffee aroma and some booziness. Light dry roasty flavor with developing coffee/roast/dryness/booziness. Palate clean and dry with a nice dry finish.
