Thanks to Ferris for the share! Dark brown color with quickly dissipating head. Aroma was of booze and ash. Taste was pretty much ashy, butterscotch, and diacetyl, maybe a touch of chocolate. Didn’t get any maple. Too bad. Ferris (15274) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 8, 2014
Draft - Maple, butterscotch and slight chocolate. Jet brown with a beige head. Maple, raw wood and burnt roast. Just not good. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - MAY 8, 2014
3/8/14. Bomber thanks to Ferris! Black pour with a small tan head that fades. Somewhat plain aroma, seltzer water, butter, ash, booziness, etc. The flavor is just about the same - big ash, diacetyl, a bit of acidic tartness. LarryBeast (616) - - APR 30, 2014
On tap @GarricksHeadPub. Big and black. Rich and deeply sweet. Bitter coffee, licorice, strong maple and the sort of candied caramel flavour you’d expect from treats at a fair. Best to go for just half a pint. fiulijn (20493) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2014

Black color with medium sized beige head. Very nice aroma, roasted malt, bread, wood; some yeast. Full bodied, strong roasted malt flavor, but with a nice compound of biscuits, raisins, chocolate; moderately sweet; the final has just a light astringency.
Very good beer.
22 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted, caramelish. Liqourice. Dry, bitter, mild butterish and dark malty. Metallic. Roasted and dry. Bitter and lingering dark malty finish. anders37 (26625) - Malmö, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2014
Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with hints of maple. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish. RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2013
Black pour with a frothy tan head and good lacing. Aroma is faint, but can pick up maple and charred malts. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy. Very sweet maple, but it tastes quite authentic. Finish is bitter sweet with burnt malts and some hop bitterness. Not terrible, but extremely filling. A few sips is all I can handle. stantheman (1050) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 20, 2013
A 650 ml bomber from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. A black beer with modest tan head. Bitter-sweet coffee and chocolate overtones here. No maple that I can detect. There probably is some in the recipe, but it’d be completely obscured by the heavy and bitter coffee and chocolate notes. The malts are roasted a bit too heavily for my taste, but I’ll get it down somehow ;-) CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 1, 2013
Creamy beige head atop an opaque body. Nose of coffee and an abundance of caramel squares. God this is sweet... Slight ash front and roasted molasses. Cloying. Definitely not worth $10.
