COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have never called a lager “ferocious” then you haven’t tried Massacre. We start with an imperial dark lager and age it in heavy-toast Kentucky bourbon barrels until it’s ready to package, at which point we dip each precious bottle in red wax to seal in the deliciousness. Very limited production, sold only in October. Make sure to get yours while it lasts.

Aroma is dominated by the bourbon barrel aromas - bourbon and toasty spicy (vanilla) oak; a little cocoa. Any hop presence is dominated by the bourbon barrel and malt aromas. Color is a dark brown with very little head. Taste is sweet in a high alcohol way; bitterness is moderate to heavy. Lots of alcohol warmth. The very high alcohol is very apparent. Body is medium. Carbonation average. Finish is long, dominated by bourbon and toasty oak and vanilla. This is not bad, but the bourbon barrel flavors dominate every thing else - no balance; the base beer is shoved way in the background.

The aroma is figs/dates a little bourbon. Pours a dark brown/amber with no head. The taste is a light bitter with a light sweetness. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy, the carbonation soft and the finish long. Has an almost cherry tart sweetness to it, some booziness but Very Good!!!

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2017 Pours cola brown with no carbonation, sickly sweet bourbon aroma and taste, so smooth for a 13% abv, tap.

12 oz bottle. Quiet pour with minimal carbonation and a bourbon, dark fruit, and molasses aroma. The beer has an opaque dark colour with a thin tan head and fair lace. It has a bourbon start with hints of dark fruit expanding into the middle. The finish is long with sweet notes of molasses, only a faint hint of hops, and an extended warm alcohol glow at the end. Lager mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy of my friend Lance. Thanks! 2015 Vintage. Black pour with a short tan head. Aroma is malty and boozy with caramel notes. Taste is overly sweet with booze, vanilla, caramel, sweet malt and candy bars. Body is medium with a soft, dense carbonation and big stickiness. Finishes with more sticky candy notes, caramel, vanilla, sweet malt and booze.
