Poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a deep copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a mild pace. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had some caramel malts, nuts, dark fruits, dark bread, light cocoa powder with some grassy and earthy hops.
The flavor matched the aroma fairly nice blending the sweet to the hops nicely. Light aftertaste of the dark bread and malts. Same in the finish.
The feel was roughly medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nice bock that I’d have again. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - APR 5, 2015
UPDATED: APR 6, 2015 Bottle: Rich, deep copper-amber pour, decent clarity; topped with a beige foam that recedes quickly to a thin film & collar. Aroma full of sweet caramel malts, light nuts, mild raisin & prune juice, a small dash of cocoa dust, moderately toasted breadiness. Semi-sweet flavor from the malt with heavy notes of caramel, toffee, toasted bread, chestnuts, & raisins. Small herbal backlash with a hint of peppery earthiness. Malty finish, a hint of red grape. Decent. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, grains, and a touch of raisin. As it warms, the raisin gets a little more intense. It pours a mostly transparent brownish-orange with a one finger khaki head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and some light toffee. The finish has some light-moderate roasted grains with a touch of raisin. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation. mabel (9787) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2014

From a bottle. Really delicious, malty flavor balanced but still refreshing. superspak (6015) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2014
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light chocolate, raisin, pear, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, earthy hop, and moderate yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light chocolate, pear, apple, herbal, floral, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light chocolate, pear, apple, herbal, floral, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of malt, earthy hop, and moderate yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Munich dunkel style. Good balance and robustness of malt, earthy hop, and moderate yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. jercraigs (10886) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2014
2014-01-25. Brown body with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Flavour is similar, sweet caramel malt, sweetish overall impression. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Simple but quaffable. Bottle shared by DuctTape umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Sample at the brewery. Pours light copper with a small creamy head. Aroma is faint, some light toast and spices. Taste is a little better. Light toasty malt along with some cinnamon and caramel. Malty sweet finish. A little chewy even in the mouthfeel. Decent, easy to drink beer for the winter. SpongeRuiner (1114) - Michigan, USA - NOV 13, 2013
A really great color with a frosty head. A solid quality I’m noticing on all Wolverine, that great clean crisp feel. A big difference on this one from the others I’ve had is the hop character. A lot stronger in this one. Followed up with a caramel finish. Hit the nail on the head for that winter/Christmas style drink.
