Dark and Dry is made with a blend of apples and champagne yeast but caramelized sugar is added just before filtering to impart a deep bronze tone. White sugar is used in the Amber Cider.

It’s difficult for me to rate cider. Most of it tastes very similar to me. This has an aroma of good white wine. Beautiful amber with a nice dry apple flavor. Light carbonation quenches thirst yet makes for easy slamming. My only complaint with "hard" cider is, it’s usually not that "hard". 5% is the same as beer. I’d like to see a 10, or even 20 percent cider. This is very good, but wayyyyyyy over priced.

Backlog rating. Bottle from Old Town. Big apple-forward nose with some white wine notes and caramel. Fairly sweet on the palate, light cinnamon, caramel and wine notes. Some light dryness on the finish, but mostly sweet.

Tap. Amber pour with no head. Apple, tart. A bit on a sweet side but nice and crisp

This is way too sweet for my taste. Almost like apple juice. No tartness or dryness at all to speak of. Not my favorite.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark amber, clear, small white head. Aroma of ripe red apple. Taste of apple and some yeast; tart and a bit dry. Crisp and refreshing. Not bad.

Rated based on notes taken 14 July 2012 -- Not my favorite Woodchuck, very forgettable.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, some apple notes, vanilla into a bit of white wine, some grape, hints of spice. Taste was a mix of caramel, apple, vanilla into white wine, touch of white grape, finishing slightly sweet.

Good carbonation and aroma seen upon pouring. Dry on palate that is balanced nicely with the sweetness. Overall very drinkable and enjoyable medium cider.

12oz bottle. a golden pour, not a lot going on. Very syrupy nose, faint pear, a lot of apple obviously. sweeter than most ciders, not a lot of mouthfeel. honey is prominent. lightly bitter older apple finish.

alexsdad06 (11561) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2014
12 oz bottle at home. Pours a clear light amber color with no head. The aroma and flavor have sweet apples, mild spices, a light tang, barely more interesting than a basic cider.
