Private Reserve Ginger combines a crisp apple cider with sharp ginger and citrus undertones. This perfect balance in taste pairs excellently with chicken, spicy stir-fry, and fruit salad.

Bomber from a Safeway as Woodchuck Cellar Series Ginger (6.9%). Pours perry color with a few bubbles. Very light ginger over mild cider for aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is clean, mild ginger, and a cider that is not too much "skin". Quite drinkable. More ginger wouldn’t hurt.

bottle - Pours pale yellow and smells of green apples and ginger. It has a sweet apple flavor with clear but not overpowering ginger. It’s sweet but not as sweet as many of the Woodchuck ciders, which is a good thing. Tasty cider.

Bottle @ home. Confession: I "bought this for my girlfriend" but really it was for me. Light straw pour with a fizzy, short lived white head. Smells of candied ginger and apple juice...pretty much what you’d expect. Hints of pear and citrus. Flavor is on the sweet side with a strong apple character and more candy than ginger. Still, a half decent spiciness of ginger. Slightly woody and herbal.

Syrupy with a bubblegum aroma and slight ginger. Very sweet and slightly spicy.

Now I’m a big fan of ginger, let’s see how this does. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color with a decent transparency about it allowing carbonation to be seen rising. There was no head. The smell did have the ginger which I did like how it came across. Light apples came through subtly. The taste was mainly sweet as the ginger faded just a tad. Apples dominated in the flavor. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty decent sessionability about it. The ginger shows a decent harshness but becomes slightly subtle. Overall, good cider I could see myself actually having again.

Aroma is apples and ginger/mint/medicinal. The flavor is apples, ginger, a hint of sweetness and a mix of mild spicy heat/tartness in the finish.

Bomber. Pours clear, barely a yellow hue, small bubbles, no head. Looks like white wine. Aroma is ginger, with some sweet apple undertones. Taste is light, dry, refreshing, taste like a light wine. One of the better woodchucks, much more my style over the sweet ciders.

Bottle at a work event. From notes. Loads of apples with a decent ginger backbone. Pretty darn good thing.
