Private Reserve Ginger combines a crisp apple cider with sharp ginger and citrus undertones. This perfect balance in taste pairs excellently with chicken, spicy stir-fry, and fruit salad.

Bottle. Clear blanc in color with a thin white head. Aroma of apple, ginger and mint. Apple juice flavor with ginger character before a sweet finish.

Tap at Rattle & Hum NYC sept 2012. Really pale yellow cider with no head. Fruity and ginger aroma. Nice ginger flavour, a bit sweet with some apple and grassy notes.

Pours a very light color (green apples?), and the nose suggests apple candy, with a somewhat crisp fruit note. The flavor brings out the ginger, however, reminding me of the Jamaican ginger beers (ie. pop) I’ve had. Not the most pleasing note, but some people might like this. Sweet, somewhat dull palate. Bottle.

Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. Very pale yellow pour that borders on being clear with no head. Heavy cooked ginger nose with light stewed apple notes. The flavor seems heavy handed with the ginger. Light apple skins with a dose of apple juice sweetness. Finishes off-dry to sweet. This one leaves you wanting for less sweetness and a greater balance of flavors.

Bottle. Fresh apple and candied ginger aroma. Clear pale yellow. Sweet / tart apple and slightly spicy ginger flavor. Light crisp body, on the sweet side of dry. I’m a huge ginger fan, so I dug this in a big way.

Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2012
Bottle shared with krista and kristen. Clear very pale yellow pour with no head. Ginger on the nose and flavor, but the underlying bitter/crisp apple shows through. Its kinda like a honey sweetness, but with a drying white grape skins. Floral as well. Kinda acidic on the palate, with ginger undertones. Glad they are trying new stuff, but this didn’t really do it for me. The angry orchard version was better than this.

Draft. Pours light and clear almost, with no head. Ginger, juicy apples, appropriate sweetness, and medium carbonation. Works well.

Pours almost completely clear with pale yellow hue. Little lacing very small head, light body, , and very light ginger aroma. Taste is ginger and some dry apple. Not one of Woodchuck’s offerings I enjoy.
