COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
subtle malt backbone lays the foundation for our house farmhouse yeast, aromas of pepper and clove play against west coast hop tropical fruitiness; clean finish, incredibly balanced and complex. not quite imperial, but a big beer by Woodfour standards

Pours amber. Flavor is sweet and full - root beer, bread, earth, and something slightly metallic. Tasty, would have again.

motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - JUL 18, 2014
sample poured from the bottle at braukunst live 2014 in munich. slightly hazed golden, spritzy with a minimal head; some funky, barny aromas with white grapeskin; light tropical fruit and grassy flavours; still quite light-bodied for its alcohol content though this does seem to detract from the yeast character

(bottle) pours a slightly hazy deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of heavy powdered sugar, grape juice and rubber, quite phenolic, with a hint of grass. flavour is mostly husky pale malts and corn cobs, with a medium sweetness and some herbal hops in the medium-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - FEB 26, 2014
Bottle pour at Braukunst Live München 02/2014. Typical US "we need brett!" in overdrive nose, harsh, metallic and chemical and pointing towards the test tube rather than the haystack. A lemon peel astringency battles with chemical brett and white pepper on an unnaturally dry palate. Thank god there still is organic Saison Dupont, De Ranke, Cazeau etc. to defend saison’s humble and chtonic origins against these artifical brett-injections and faux hommages.

illidurit (2340) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 12, 2014
On tap at the brewery. Pours a bright orange with a white head. Lots of apricot in the aroma, peppery. Flavor is sweet for the style, peach syrup and honeyish grains. Kinda sticky on the palate. Give this some brett and a few months.
