Hopping Mad uses just one single hop variety, Progress, to achieve its appealing aroma, its pleasingly bitter taste and its delightful sparkle. We believe the result is uniquely enjoyable. So did the judges at the Beauty of Hops Awards, who awarded it a Silver Medal.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris Os laid back Friday night tasting.
Dirty gold with a very slight film topping. Full on grain and wheat with some slight hops in the background. Slight diacetyl. Some malt. Tarty, almost acrid finish. Rather lifeless in the mouth. NEXT!

DruncanVeasey (8225) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2008
Murky orange amber pour with a white rim of suds. Aroma faintly piney hop with a hint of tropical fruit (pineapple), tea leaf, sweet buttery malt and vanilla. Gently citrussy flavour with tea, lemon and soapy pine. Firm hop finish with biscuity afters. Reasonable hoppy bitter nudging towards unfiltered Bohemian Pilsener territory.

An ok beer, with caramel and a hoppy/perfume aroma. Had a nice palate with a sweet beginning and bitter in the end.

larsga (7497) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 11, 2007
Medium offwhite fine-laced foam. Amber body with small particles, somewhat hazy. Faint hoppy tea aroma. Delicate dry-and-sweet fruity resiny hoppy taste. Body is medium. Some malts and tea, but shoved into the background by the powerful hops. Good balance, though. Dry metallic fruit and wood aftertaste. Quite unusual, but very nice. (0.5l bottle from Centra.)

Bottle. Coarse, big-bubbled greyish head. Misty light orange-brown colored body. Discreet aroma of apples and pale malts. Caramel and herbs in the background. Taste is fairly sweet malts without the promising hopping mad signature. Some hopbitterness appears towards the end. Light bitter finish.

Bottle from Centra, Majorstuen. Hazy golden ale, the hops giving a piney aroma and a fine bitterness. A bit yeasty, perhaps, but this is a very decent beer. Soft carbonation.
