12oz brown screwtop bottle from the local Hannaford. Pours a nearly translucent amber-red body with an impressive somewhat rocky inch-thick head that dissipates after not too long. Grassy, piney, somewhat citrussy hops dominate the aroma with some caramel and butterscotch in the background. Hops bombard the mouth at first, piney and grassy more than anything else, with a presence of butterscotch and biscuit to help counterbalance the hops. Moderate in both body and carbonation, this beer is a fairly easy drinker. Not the best IPA I’ve had but a good one and definitely a solid choice for sure, and one I may get again. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 10, 2004
Light copper in color with a small white head.Citrus hop aroma.Bitter and hoppy with a toasted malt character.Crisp dry finish. chicagobears (474) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - MAR 11, 2010
Bottle pours a translucent amber/orange. Nose is buttery and slightly fruity. The initial butterscotch burst unmasks a grapefruit like dry hop bite. Has a toasted biscuit flavor as well. The combined flavor work really well together. This is like a pale ale/ IPA hybrid. This beer has its own unique character which I like! VALIS (229) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 17, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 I’m happily out of step with the crowd on this one, I think this is a very solid beer. Cloudy burnt orange color, pungent hop aroma and nice bitter/sour taste without being overpowering. AdamChandler (5113) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 2, 2015
slight haze golden orange. Nose is weak with a light orange bitternes. Taste is refreshing. crisp saltines, herbal with juicy orange finish. i’d revisit this one.

Fruity aroma gives way to a hoppy taste. It has a sweet beginning and a bitter finish. Very dry. Worth a shot. warhawk91 (302) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - JAN 18, 2014
12 oz. bottle. Pours a pretty orangish rusty color, unfiltered. Off white head that diminishes pretty quickly. Not much lacing. Smell is caramel, citrus and mild hops. Taste is nice, caramel notes with pineapple and a mildly bitter hop profile. Aftertaste slightly bitter and citrusy. To me this is quite a bit better than the majority of the ratings I've read.

@ brewpub. Good nose, citrusy. Grapefruit/lemon/orange. Ok head that faded to nothing. Clean brownish orange color. Bitter flavors. Grapefruit with some rind. Medium body, sticky syrupy mouthfeel, bitter, grapefruit, finish Its a bitter one. Call it one dimensional, but in a way I like. PorterPounder (8176) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 16, 2007
Medium copper pour, nice, soft white head. Sprucey aroma with some sweet cake mix thrown in there. Well hopped flavor - nicely rounded - not too bitter. Fruit presence is more peachy and necrtarine like than grapefuit. Some nuttiness makes its way in as well. Clean even mouthfeel, somewhst sticky. Rather enjoyed this one. . Thanks to Aurelius for saving this out of his Ale-in-the-mail shipment.
