A very enjoyable brown. With a little more maltiness in the nose it would be great. It has the right balance of sweetness and hop bitterness. TaktikMTL (7981) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 19, 2005

Thanks to Frank and Donna. Dark brown color, has a fruity malty caramel taste with a fruity hop finish. OldGrowth (3665) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - NOV 7, 2004
@ brewpub. Ok nose, malty. Cocoa mainly. Clean orangy brown color. No head. Sweet, bitter flavors. Chocolate/cocoa, carmel, kinda nutty. Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel. Biter dry finish. Really like this one, though I didn’t get the nose like some did.

Smells and looks great. Reminds me of newcastle somewhat, with a stronger start and weaker finish. Can definitely taste the nutty flavor - worth a try, but perhaps only once. joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 3, 2004
Clear chestnut brown. Finger of beige foam. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, light chocolate & nuts. Soft, creamy, medium feel. Flavour of caramel, chocolate & nuts. Moderately bitter, hoppy finish. Sweet aftertaste. muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 19, 2004
Sample at the Vermont Brewers’ Fest. Nutty-fruity nose, big medium-sweet malty body, finishing piney hops. Thick and juicy. tiggmtl (4543) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2004
Sweet and fruity aroma. Clear brown with off-white head that recedes to cover. Toffee, caramel, lightly buttery diacetyl, malty sweet with nice fruity esters and decent balancing bitterness. Lasting sweetness on the tongue in the aftertaste. On tap at the Vermont Brewers Festival. MartinT (10102) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 29, 2004
Fruity dark malt, butter-daubed, give off a pleasant nutty oil sweetness...A suave body in which hides a smoky earthiness and a few cherry bushes...Hop resin rises in the back but remain covered by the malt...A tasty quaffer but the many flavors don't come together to the forefront like I would like them to...
